A young driver has been jailed after he killed his best friend in a car crash after bending down to pick up his phone.  Jason Lewis, 23, took his eyes off the road after dropping his phone under the pedals of his Peugeot 106 as he drove along a road in Ebbw Vale, South Wales.  He lost control of the car as he twice tried to retrieve the phone and was in a head-on collision which killed his passenger and best friend, Tom Baynton. A young mother, killed when she lost control of her car in Cardiff was not wearing a seatbelt, an inquest heard.  Ceri Ann Sullivan, 21, from Cyncoed, lost control of her Renault Clio on the A48 near St Mellons on 24 May, 2014.  Cardiff Coroner's Court was told how the mother-of-one collided with Rodney Jones, who was driving his Ford Mondeo in the opposite direction.  Miss Sullivan suffered massive head injuries and was pronounced dead at Cardiff's University Hospital of Wales. A 21-year-old man has died in a crash on the A483 between Newtown and Berriew, in Powys.
Dyfed-Powys Police said the driver who died in the two-vehicle accident was from the Welshpool area.

A spokesman for the force said: "At around 10pm Saturday 21st December a two vehicle RTC occurred on the A483 between Newtown and Berriew where unfortunately the driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene."

A driver who killed two motorists during an "outrageous" high-speed road race and then fled to the pub has been jailed for five years.  Luke Jones, 24, was doing up to 100mph on the A465 Heads of the Valleys road near Brynmawr moments before the crash. (17 October 2013).

Gethin Jones, from Trawsfynydd in Gwynedd, had been friends with Geraint Williams, 19, since primary school. Teen charged over four-deaths crash - A 17-year-old boy has been charged with four counts of manslaughter following the death of four teenage girls in a car crash, police said today.
